Fresh state and hydration properties of high-volume lithium slag cement composites

چکیده

Abstract In this study, the fresh state and hydration properties of 0–60% lithium slag blended cement pastes were investigated at water-binder ratio 0.47. The workability was evaluated by measuring air content, marsh cone flow, mini-slump setting times, through rheology tests. A 40% could produce 91% strength activity index 28 days; pat diameter 70.54 mm; flow efflux time 145 s; content 0.6%; heat 300 J/g (at 72 h). At replacement levels above 40%, index, heat, fluidity significantly reduced. Experimental investigations confirm that test provides best correlation coefficients ( R 2 = 0.96) with maximum shear viscosity than content. classical slump rheological models used to characterise mini-slump, yield stress, plastic low high volume pastes. present study recommends a paste is viable option green concrete for optimum fresh, hydration, rheological, hardened properties.

Properties of Cement Pastes Doped with Very High Amounts of Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag

In the current work, the properties of cement pastes doped with high amounts of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (HVS) were investigated. Portland cement (PC) was substituted with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (donated as slag) at very high amounts of 85%, 90%, 95% and 100%, by weight. PC paste without any content of slag was used as a reference. Some fresh and hardened properties su...

Limestone Fillers Cement Based Composites: Effects of Blast Furnace Slags on Fresh and Hardened Properties

Limestone filler is a raw material that is already used in several applications like paints, bricks, bituminous mixtures...etc. Moreover, and particularly in Belgium, classical additions for concrete like fly ashes and granulated blast furnace slags are becoming rare; there is a need for new additions that could have a positive effect on the properties of the fresh and hardened cementitous comp...

Transport Properties of Carbon-Nanotube/Cement Composites

This paper preliminarily investigates the general transport properties (i.e., water sorptivity, water permeability, and gas permeability) of carbon-nanotube/cement composites. Carboxyl multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) are dispersed into cement mortar to fabricate the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) reinforced cement-based composites by applying ultrasonic energy in combination with the use of surf...

Microwave Study of Hydration of Slag Cement Blends in Early Period

Microwave technique were used to investigate the early hydration of slag cement with different slag percentages, different activators and different amount of activator. It is found that higher slag cement causes a higher dielectric constant E and a shorter induction period. But higher slag cement samples have very different electrical conductivity (3 compared with that of pure cement, their o c...
